  题目:Unlocking carbon nano-tectonics for next-generation lithium batteries

  报告内容:The development of advanced battery technologies has been driven by the ever-increasing demand for more efficient energy storage. Lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries have revolutionized the present information-rich and mobile society. However, the intrinsic intercalation mechanism of Li–ion batteries places an upper limit on their energy density due to the limited weight and volume of the cathode and the anode host for Li ion intercalation. Therefore, it has become an imperative to explore high-energy alternatives beyond the Li–ion intercalation electrochemistry. Advanced Li batteries, employing emerging high-capacity cathodes like sulfur and/or high-capacity anodes like Li metal, have been regarded as promising next-generation battery technologies to meet the future needs due to their high-energy-density advantage. Yet the uncontrolled electrochemical behaviors of these high-capacity electrodes have greatly hindered their practical implementation. Carbon materials, known with many appealing properties including high conductivity, tunable structure and surface chemistry, and light weight, are investigated intensively to improve the performance of advanced Li batteries. Here we showcase how carbon-based materials serve to regulate the electrochemical behavior of sulfur cathodes and Li metal anodes from the fundamental redox reactions to electrode structure and integral cell design, to achieve high-energy and highly stable lithium batteries. Important cell parameters that dictate the practical energy density of a Li battery will also be taken into consideration to pave the way for constructing high-energy batteries under realistic conditions. 

 

个人简介:方若翩,现为澳大利亚新南威尔士大学Lecturer,澳大利亚研究理事会DECRA Fellow (优秀青年基金)。2018年博士毕业于中国科学院金属研究所,师从成会明院士和李峰研究员。主要从事碳材料及新型电化学储能器件研究。获得中国科学院院长特别奖,学位论文被评为中国科学院优秀博士学位论文。曾获得Carbon Journal Prize (Elsevier) 和JPhys Energy Early Career Award (IOP Publishing) 等学术奖励。在Science Advances、Nature Communications、Advanced Materials、Energy & Environmental Science等SCI期刊上发表论文30余篇, 获得引用6000余次。被聘为《Carbon Neutralization》青年编委,担任《Nanoscale advances》和《Batteries》期刊客座编辑。
